Actor Antwon Tanner pleaded guilty in a federal court on Friday

According to the New York Times and The Associated Press, actor Antwon Tanner pleaded guilty in a federal court on Friday to selling Social Security numbers for $10,000 as part of an identity theft scheme.

Mr. Tanner, 34, right, was arrested in April for selling 16 Social Security numbers and three fake cards to undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. He told Judge Carol B. Amon of Federal District Court in Brooklyn that he was a middleman in a criminal scheme, selling numbers that someone else provided to him. His sentencing was set for Nov. 20, and he faces up to a year in prison.
